Benefits Administration Services

Services:
- Make plan recommendations based upon corporate goals and objectives.
- Administer daily tasks such as processing enrollment forms, changes, and/or terminations.
- Reconcile bills and premiums paid; provide ongoing audits of payroll deductions. Includes receiving copies of monthly bills, reconciling against current changes and updates, auditing for accuracy, and notifying carriers of necessary adjustments.
- Process termination of employees from the various coverages in a timely fashion. This includes submitting status changes via fax, filing records, and verifying that changes are reflected in the billing.
- Assist the client’s broker with coordinating employee meetings and employee communi-qués. Includes maintaining the benefit rate sheets and summary of benefit forms provided for new and existing employees.
- Develop and coordinate enrollment materials; conduct open enrollment meetings and conference calls; and provide updates to insurance carriers and brokers.
- Prepare packets and enroll newly eligible employees in health and welfare plans.
- Respond to employee inquiries. Includes copying, faxing, mailing, recording, and filing the enrollment forms and notifying payroll of deduction amounts.
- Assist as needed with employee benefits issues such as claim problems, provider networks, and education.
- Assistance in interpreting state and federal compliance requirements affecting employee benefit plans such as COBRA, FMLA and ERISA (note: Strategic HR recommends COBRA administration be outsourced to a third party provider at an additional cost).
- Interface with a third party administrator (TPA) for the company’s 401(k) to ensure that enrollments are being processed, payments are distributed, changes are made to contributions changes, and employee inquiries are resolved. Strategic HR can recommend TPAs if needed.
- Review master insurance contracts, benefit summaries and booklets with respect to plan design, benefit levels and state and federal mandates.
- Assist broker with information to prepare Summary Plan Descriptions.
- Provide notifications to outside COBRA vendor.
- Preparation of requests for proposals, assist with vendor selection and rate negotiation.
